Baptism | St. Columba's Episcopal Church v2

St. Columba’s welcomes all persons desiring Baptism to receive the sacrament here at St. Columba’s. We are excited to welcome the newly baptized and their family into our community and the Body of Christ!

Baptism is offered on significant Sundays in the Church’s calendar year. It is a joyous celebration where the whole community welcomes and promises to support the newly baptised. During the remainder of the 2022-2023 program year, Baptisms will be offered on Pentecost - May 28, 2023 at the combined 9am/9:15am service (starts at 9:15am) in the courtyard; and Sunday, July 9, 2023. During the upcoming 2023-2024 program year Baptisms will be offered on All Saints Day, November 5, 2023; on the Baptism of Jesus, January 7, 2024; at the Easter Vigil, Saturday March 30, 2024 at 7pm; on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the 9:15am Wee Worship service; on Pentecost, May 19, 2024; and on Sunday July 14, 2024.

Please complete the registration form at least one month before your preferred date and we will reach out to you to arrange your or your child's baptism.

We ask that the baptismal candidate, their parents (for children), and their sponsors (Godparents) attend a preparation class and rehearsal. We will arrange the timing and location of this discussion before the date of the baptism. This conversation is a chance for us to learn more about one another and the meanings and symbolism of Baptism.

Joining a church doesn’t mean you don’t have big questions or doubts. Deciding to be part of a loving community of faith means you’re open to exploring and wrestling with those big questions and doubts. Most people here did not grow up in The Episcopal Church. Some have never been a member of any church. Many have a background in a different church or faith tradition. At St. Columba’s, there will be many opportunities to learn, ask questions, and get to know other pilgrims along the way. Our deepest hope is that everyone who steps through our doors knows they belong here.
