Summer Singers is a pick-up choir that forms each Sunday during the summer to learn and sing special music for that morning’s worship. The group gathers in the music room at 9:45 am for a quick warm-up, and then prepares an offertory anthem to share at the 10:30 am nave service. Singers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join the Summer Singers each Sunday, beginning June 11 and continuing through the first week in September, or on any Sunday you are available!
St. Columba’s is a lively community of music enthusiasts with singing choirs and handbell ensembles for youth and adults, and chamber orchestra under the direction of Anne Timpane, minister of music ministries.
Director of Music Ministries 202-363-4119, EXT. 207 Anne Timpane, our director of music ministries, is a magna cum laude graduate of Westminster Choir College and holds a Master of Music degree in organ performance from Manhattan School of Music (MSM). While at MSM, she was awarded the Bronson Regan Award for outstanding accomplishment in organ performance. She began her career in church music as the Lee Hastings Bristol, Jr., Organ Scholar at Trinity Church, Princeton, NJ, and has served several parishes in the New York and Washington, DC areas, including St. Columba’s (DC), The Brick Church, (NYC), Christ Church Greenwich (CT) and Christ Church Bronxville (NY). Most recently, she was at St. John’s Norwood parish in Chevy Chase (MD), where she served as director of music ministries for 10 years.Anne Timpane
